Women
Empowering Women toward Health, Wholeheartedness, and their Highest Self

Women

Flourish
The need for a women’s education and empowerment group “Flourish” comes from finding myself at age 50 at a place I never thought I would be, heartbroken and asking questions without knowing where to find answers on a local level. According to the 2015 Tri-State Health Survey one in every four adults in our area has been diagnosed with depression, a rate much higher than the national average. Evansville has some of the highest rates of suicide, divorce, substance abuse, and poor health. Women have more depression and anxiety than men, and often are the ones who are left without resources or answers after traumatic life events. By bringing women together who are facing challenges in their life (marked by the presence of a serious obstacle, struggle, or heartbreak) and connecting them with resources for healing, self-development, and empowerment it is my hope to bring health, healing and happiness to our community. Initial meetings will be offered on a monthly basis with educational and empowering speakers and a referral network to churches, mental health therapists, and other community resources.‚Äč
