Education, Latin America
One of the largest countries in Central America is home to 600,000 deaf residents. This population is largely illiterate and has no access to the Bible in a format that they can understand. Only 1 of the 400 plus Deaf Languages has a Bible translation!
Advocacy Team Leader: Katie DeVillez & Adam Hubert
Partner: Pioneer Bible Translators
PBT translates the Bible and plants churches among the world’s least-reached people groups. Their focus is on the most challenging language groups — those who are marginalized, those who live in hard-to-access places, and those who are deaf.
Current Priority: Developing an Advocacy Team at Crossroads and discerning our role in this multi-year project to translate/film the Action Bible in the Local Sign Language.
