The Unhoused
ASSIST MEN IN BECOMING INDEPENDENT
The unhoused have more going on in their lives than simply not having a place to call home. Statistically, they are far more likely to suffer from mental health issues and addiction. Trauma, shame, poverty, and a lack of affordable housing fuels these issues, which drives many into despair and hopelessness. But it doesn’t have to be this way.
Our Partner: The Evansville Rescue Mission
The Evansville Rescue Mission has been growing men toward wholeness and independence for over 100 years. In 2023, they announced that they will be opening a women and children’s shelter in 2025. Our advocacy team will work alongside ERM and other organizations focused on empowering the unhoused.
Current Priority: Our partnership focus is to help men who are residing at the Evansville Rescue Mission and who attend Crossroads regularly to transition to independence successfully.
