School Supplies Drive

Think back to when your family was preparing for your kids to go back to school. Maybe that was last year or maybe a little further back. It’s a time of excitement and anxiety. It creates some extra space and a few additional stressors.

For families that are struggling, it’s also a time of financial burden. The cost of school supplies adds up! Some families in our community have to make the choice between school supplies and keeping the lights on.

Again this year, we’re partnering with Glenwood Leadership Academy and Potter’s Wheel to invest in young learners by supplying essential school supplies and clothing so that they can start the school year with what they need to be successful!

The School Supplies Drive kicks off on Sunday, July 18, and there are a few ways you can help!

  • Grab a shopping bag at Crossroads and fill it with supplies on the list that is attached to the bag.
  • Make a monetary donation toward school supplies that are needed. You can use this form link to do that!
  • 20 people are needed for the School Supplies Collection, July 25/August 1. You would receive, sort or pack supplies before each service.
  • 15 people are needed for the After-Supplies Drive Sale, August 4.
You would set up or assist during the sale at Potter’s Wheel. During this event, School Supplies are sold at greatly reduced prices with all proceeds to benefit a Family Fun Night for the Goosetown/Tepe Park/Glenwood neighborhoods.

Thank you for your generosity! If you have any questions, please contact John Heflick. We appreciate all you do for our community partners!

Join us for our next opportunity with Glenwood Leadership Academy!

We have been invited to welcome GLA families and students back to school at their GLA OPEN HOUSE on Thursday, August 5 • 3:30-5:30 PM!

As families attend the Open House, we will be grilling and serving food, and helping families learn where to find their children’s classrooms.

GLA invests in children in one of the most under-resourced communities in our city, and they need your presence at this great event! Come see the amazing work that Glenwood is doing on the Southside of Evansville.

Let us know you’ll be there!
